The Lure of Old Glory

It comes into view, presented to the crew
Accompanied by a brief moment of silence.
The folds roll and sway inviting the melody
To dance among the Stars and Stripes.
From somewhere aloft a note rings out,
With all hands at attention.
The mood you know is solemn and proud
Almost too much to mention.
Through time and trial, with bloodshed and tears
She remains our symbol of faith and hope of freedom
To last throughout the years.
